1.4301 vs. 1.4031 Stainless Steel: Key Differences304 vs 304L Stainless Steel: What's the Real Difference?Stainless Steel Type 304 / 304L (UNS S30400 / S30403)

17-4Ph offers high strength and hardness along with excellent corrosion resistance.17-4 Ph has been used for a variety of applications including oil field valve parts, chemical process equipment, aircraft fittings, fasteners, pump shafts, nuclear reactor components, gears, paper mill equipment, missile fittings, and jet engine parts.

Precipitation-Hardening: Achieves high strength and hardness via low-temperature aging heat treatment, minimizing distortion.

Offers superior mechanical strength, sometimes reaching high tensile strengths after aging.

Resists corrosion in atmospheric, mild acid, and saltwater environments, comparable to Grade 304 stainless steel.

Available in a solution-treated condition (Condition A) for easy machining, then age-hardened.

Primarily Iron (Fe), Chromium (Cr), Nickel (Ni), and Copper (Cu), with Niobium (Nb) or Columbium (Cb).
